Physical Education and Athletics at Ridgefield Academy are integral components of our student's overall development. Our activities are developmentally appropriate for the different grade levels, and are presented in a manner that allows our students to explore their physical potential, while developing a sense of self-awareness and confidence.
The Lower School program allows students to explore movement and introduces them to basic manipulative skills. Our Middle School program introduces different sport based activities,
while our Upper School program gives our students an opportunity to
represent RA on various athletic teams.
The underlying theme of the
program is to teach our students the benefits of a healthy lifestyle,
and encourage them find ways to unleash their physical potential. Middle School students play intramural sports to help better understand the finer points of the skills and strategies needed to successfully play a variety of sports. Our

Upper School students learn the thrill of teamwork, as well as the excitement of competing against athletes from other independent schools.
Ridgefield Academy is a member of the Fairchester Athletic Association.
