After handing in the third draft of the Oliver Twist paper, completing a Robotics assignment about designing a zoo robot, and presenting on the Smartboard in Geometry class, one may be looking forward to the home game on the turf field, or the dance practice for this year’s musical. Whatever a student’s passion English, technology, math, sports or the arts he/she can experience it everyday at Ridgefield Academy’s Upper School. Our schedule incorporates both traditional 40 minute periods as well as block (double) periods for longer study time and oral presentations (Sample Schedule). Our newly finished science lab perches above our rolling fields and is a great place to study chemical properties or spy a hawk hunting in flight. Our two new Macintosh computer labs incorporate the latest in graphic design and music technology. Our in-class trout tank shows students the process of development first hand and allows them to participate in a real environmental conservation project. Our Foreign Language Fair, excursions to New York City museums, Boston & Washington trips, as well as enrichment programs allows us to consistently expand our cultural understandings.
