2016-2017 School Term
We are happy to continue to offer bus transportation for Kindergarten through Grade 8 families who find it beneficial. We are also considering the possibility of offering bus transportation for students enrolled in our Preschool 4s program. If you would be interested in this service, please let us know so that we can begin to explore it further.

Connecticut families who elect to use bus service for transport to and/or from school are charged bus transportation fees. (The Town of Ridgefield subsidizes a portion of the cost for Ridgefield residents. New York provides this service at no extra charge for New York residents who reside within 15 miles of the school.)

Transportation fees are likely to increase next year. For the 2016-17 school year, we intend to set the rates based on the number of riders who sign up. The more riders we have, the lower the cost per family. We are also waiting to learn what changes to the bus transportation rates, if any, might be forthcoming from the Town of Ridgefield based on the recent Connecticut state budgeting changes. Although we have not yet determined the bus transportation fees for next year, Connecticut families should expect fees within the ranges below, assuming no changes in the reimbursement rate from the Town of Ridgefield. As soon as all the information becomes available, we will share the fees with you.
Ridgefield Residents
$950 - $1150
($5.59 - $6.76 per day)
$550 - $700
($3.24 - $4.12 per day)
Non-Ridgefield Residents of Connecticut
$3100 - $3300
($18.24 - 19.42 per day)
$1900 - $2100
($11.18 - 12.36 per day)

Bus transportation fees will appear on student accounts in the fall, and are payable upon receipt. You will be notified by SmartTuition when your bus transportation fee has been applied to your account.

Connecticut Busing

Connecticut families who were bus riders this year will be automatically signed up for bus transportation next year. If you are new to the bus for next year, or will no longer be using the bus for next year, please let us know ASAP, and no later than July 15.

New York Busing

New York State Education Law provides transportation to non-public schools for residents living within 15 miles of their school. Each year, families are required to make a written request for busing to be filed with the district in which they reside. To be eligible for transportation, students must be five years of age on or before December 1st of the year in which they are requesting transportation services.
