A Note from Director, Ann Hirsch
Lice has been reported in some public schools in our area already. With that in mind, please be prudent with your rest friends and new pillow animals and put them in the dryer on high heat daily to help fight off any possible infestation. We haven't had any reports on our campus, but we want to be proactive.
School
Reach
There will be a
trial launch of School Reach on Wednesday, October 6th. The School Reach
system is an all-school telephone message that can reach every parent
simultaneously to notify of school delays, cancellations, and other
news. This will only be a test to ensure it works correctly. If you do
not receive a phone call, please let the Main Office know.
Martial Arts Club
Due to overwhelming demand, we have added a second day to our Martial Arts Club on Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:15 pm in the gym. The cost is $135 for 9 weeks starting this Thursday. Please e-mail Hannah at hbarber@landmarkpreschool.org if you are interested.
Fisher-Price Recalls In the past few weeks, Fisher-Price has issued recalls on products including: high chairs, trikes, infant toys, and rampways. Although the recall does not pertain to anything on our campus, it may affect some of our families at home. If you would like more information, please visit their website here.
Wish List Items
Every teacher has posted special items that they would like to receive or order for their classroom. Please check your child’s classroom, and although there may be some pricier options, please do not feel overwhelmed as small donations can be made toward more costly items. If you picked up one of the Wish List Items and have not paid for it, please return it to your child's teacher or bring it to the Main Office. A big thank you to all of the many parents that have already purchased Wish List Items.
Social Committee's First Outing
Please join us on Wednesday, October 20th from 3 pm - 4:15 pm at Blue Jay Orchards in Bethel for a perfect kick-off to the school year and the Fall season with a fun and educational introduction to life on a farm and to the exciting aspects of Fall! This tour is a combo apple and pumpkin tour geared for preschool-level children. The cost of the tour is $10 per child and the tour is approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. It includes: a small pumpkin from the patch, an apple from the bin, a cup of cider, cookies or donuts, and a coloring book. If you would like to attend with your child, please RSVP no later than Friday, October 15th by providing appropriate payment in an envelope in either your child's backpack or dropping it off in the Main Office.
Family Flu Clinic
There will be a Family Flu Clinic on Thursday, October 21st from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Ridgefield Academy in the Nurses Office located in the Summit Building. The Clinic will be run by the Ridgefield VNA. They accept most insurance plans, otherwise the cost is $38 for the shot and $43 for the FluMist. The Well Child Cooking Series with Chef Liz Gagon offers cooking classes featuring Allergy Free and/or Baby Food classes for parents that want to provide delicious food to fill their child's belly.
