Why Children Misbehave and How to Get Them to Listen
Please join us for our parenting discussion group with family therapist Leslie Cohen Rubury as she addresses some of those challenging moments all parents face. We all love our kids, but sometimes they just don’t listen! What’s a parent to do? Leslie offers some insights, as well as practical suggestions for everyday life.  Leslie is a consultant to Landmark, and is a popular speaker who also has a thriving private practice. We are pleased to welcome her back, and hope you will be able to join us. Please feel free to bring a friend. The discussion group will meet in our Media Center on Thursday, March 4th from 9:15 – 10:30.

Sounds of Africa
We enjoyed a visit from the African dance and drum group “Sounds of Africa” for Black History Month. Many thanks to LPA for sponsoring this event.

Olympic Moment
Students in our Kindergarten and Fives classes were treated to a very special visit from Olympic Gold Medalist and Landmark parent Tammy Dryden, who played hockey at the Salt Lake City games. She shared with the children what it was like to participate in the Olympics and passed around her hockey jersey and gold medal. Thank you so much to Tammy for allowing our students to get such a hands-on experience!

Spring Break Camp

Looking for something fun to do for spring break? We have great news! For the first time ever we will be offering a fun-filled camp for spring break for children in our Threes through Kindergarten. The week of March 15th our theme will be "Spanish Fun."  The week of March 22nd our theme will be "Creative Arts & Drama."  Camp will be led by Mrs. De Andrade who has taught Spanish, music and also runs a popular children’s summer theater program.  A flyer and registration form went home in your child’s folder.

 Catch Saturday Night Fever!

Our Auction Committee has planned a great party this year! Our theme is the 70’s era disco Studio 54, the date is Saturday, May 8th 7 – 11 PM; so book those sitters now!  If you have something you'd like to donate, or if you would like to be involved in the auction, email Missy Zahler at mazyto1@yahoo.com , Shannon Whipple at shannonmwhipple@aol.com or Medha Thomas at medha311@gmail.com

Our auction this year will be focused again on continuing the technology improvements begun last year. We have added new computers, a projector, purchased software, and cameras, and installed two SmartBoards designed specifically for use in early childhood learning environments in our Fives and Kindergarten classrooms. Our teachers are excited about the ways they can use these new tools to enhance learning for our students, and we are excited to continue the momentum next year. Thank you for the many enthusiastic responses we have already received, we greatly appreciate your support!
