What Is Team Brent?
Over the next several weeks, you will be hearing about “Team Brent” and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Team Brent was created by the McCreesh family, a Landmark family whose son Brent was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at a very young age. Thanks to innovative treatments, Brent is doing well. The St. Baldrick’s foundation has raised over $69 million for cancer research, Team Brent represents an outpouring of community support for Brent and other childhood cancer patients and survivors, and organizes events in our community to help with this great cause. One of their most popular events is the St. Baldrick’s Day event where volunteers can shave their heads to raise money for cancer research. This year’s event will take place on March 6th at Harbor Yard, and all of the Sound Tigers will be shaving their heads in support of this great cause! For more information go to www.teambrent.com

 The Marriage of Q & U

It was a letter-perfect wedding. One quiet bride wed one quirky groom.

In a quintessential event, Mrs. Brito's class held a wedding ceremony Tuesday for the letters Q and U.

The groom carried the letter Q and wore a quaint top hat and tails, while the bride carried the letter U and sported a beautiful quill. The couple was attended by their classmates, who queued up early to wish them well.

The ceremony was quite quick, but lovely.

Do you, letter Q, take the letter U to be your lawfully wedded letter?

"Yes," each answered quietly.

What phonics has joined together, let no spelling errors put asunder.

The reception followed featuring a powdered donut wedding cake.  The reception table was decorated with mementos of the happy couple.

When questioned, the couple said they planned on living "Happily Ever After" though we are quite certain they may have borrowed those words from Mrs. Ludlow's 5's as they are studying fairy tales this month.

Be sure to wish them well!
