RA Loses Close Game to NCCS
	Ridgefield Academy volleyball just missed their first big win over New Canaan Country School despite some spirited play and outstanding teamwork. New Canaan won the first game 25 to 17. RA came back in the second game, demonstrating amazing skills, teamwork, and aggression to win the game 25 to 21! The last game of the match was close! RA held the lead until the end of the game when New Canaan came back with some great serving and tied up the score. New Canaan defeated RA 16 to 14 in the last game, winning the match 2-1. Great job Patriots!

	RA Bows to Greenwich Academy
	On Tuesday, October 11, Ridgefield Academy faced Greenwich Academy in their third volleyball match of the 2011 Fall Season. Although Ridgefield Academy exhibited great teamwork and fantastic improvement in their skills, they fell to Greenwich Academy 2-0. Sophie McLaughlin, 7th grade, had some beautiful serves which helped her team into the lead in their first game of the match. Liam also had some solid serving time and was a huge asset to the team in regards to communication. Jonah Dubin, 8th grade, had some great saves and bumps throughout the game, and remained a positive force for his teammates.

	Patriots Play Well Against GFA
	The RA Volleyball team played well against a very strong GFA squad last week. RA came out a a little timid in the first match and played catch-up for the entire match, eventually losing 25-15. In the second game, RA's Jonah Dubin and Liam Mcdermott served the ball with power and Christina Thomson and Melissa Savoy played well offensively, helping RA inch a little closer with a 25-17 loss. In the third and final game, the Patriots shined with a great team effort and tremendous play from Abby Chow and Sophie McLaughlin, winning a nail biter of a game, 25-23.
