Patriots Fall to Windward |

The 7th grade boys basketball team lost to Windward 29-38 in basketball action on Tuesday, January 31st. Windward dominated the court the first half, but faced a strong comeback by the Patriots in the 3rd quarter. Patriots made a strong comeback outscoring their opponent and playing strong defense in the second half, but fell short at the final buzzer. Corey Rispoli scored a season high 20 points to lead the Patriots while Chris Birch added 5. Also contributing to the scoring was Anthony Perkins with 2 points and St. Mary's Freddy Rio with one. The boys bounce back in to action on Monday, February 6th at home against NCCS. |

Patriots Play Tough Against St. Luke's |

The Patriots played a tough game against St. Luke's on Thursday, January 26th. In the first quarter, Ridgefield Academy dominated the court, outscoring St. Luke's 9 to 4. In the second quarter, St. Luke's picked up their game shutting out RA 11 to 0. The Patriots and St. Luke's played an evenly matched game in the second half; however, St. Luke's maintained the lead to finalize the score 35 - 24 in favor of St. Luke's. Seventh graders Chris Birch, Anthony Perkins, Corey Rispoli, and St. Mary's Desmond Kager all put points on the board; and Ethan "Animal" Hynes played aggressive on defense. |

Patriots Narrowly Defeated by Greenwich Catholic |

Six seconds and 1 point was the narrow difference between the Patriots coming up with a victory against a strong Greenwich Catholic team. Despite the loss, Coach Lindstrom couldn't have been more pleased with the efforts of the team. "These boy's played the best game of their season today and I am extremely proud of them." Mr. Lindstrom stated. Ridgefield led most of the game until Greenwich Catholic took a single point lead with only a few seconds left on the clock. Corey Rispoli hit a clutch shot that gave RA the lead again. With seconds left, Greenwich Catholic drove the length of the court for the final shot and the win. Corey Rispoli led RA with 16 points while Chris Birch scored 14. Ethan Hynes and and Michael Ambrosio played tremendous defense. The 7th grade boy's play again next Thursday against St. Lukes at RA with a game time of 3:45. |

Patriots Move to 2-0 with Win Over GFA |

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team moved to 2-0 for the season as they defeated Greens Farm Academy 23-19 on Wednesday, January 11th. Corey Rispoli led the offensive attack for the Patriots netting 10 points. Also scoring for the team were Chris Birch with 6 points, Desmond Kager with 4 points and Anthony Perkins with 3 points. Coach Lindstrom was proud of the entire team effort and the strides they have made in their overall improvement. Defensively for the Patriots, Yuri Kovshov, Byron Duncan, Ethan Bruck, Scott Barnet, and Freddy Rios did an outstanding job holding the Dragons of GFA to a scoreless third quarter! The team is back in action on Thursday, January 19th as they travel to Greenwich Catholic for a 3:45pm start. |

Patriots Begin Season with Victory Over Greenwich Country Day |

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team opened the 2012 season with a 25-16 win over Greenwich Country Day School on Thursday, January 5th. Corey Rispoli led the Patriots in scoring with 11 points, while classmate Chris Birch scored 10. Anthony Perkins and Desmond Kager each contributed two points. Coach Lindstrom and Coach Gephart were very pleased with the efforts of the entire team. The boys are back in action on Wednesday, January 11th at home against Greens Farm Academy at 4:00pm. |
