Secondary School Admissions Testing
	In addition to a student's transcript, secondary schools require one of two kinds of admissions tests: Many independent area day schools require an ISEE test. In other words, a student applying to Wooster, St. Luke’s or Greens Farms needs to take only this test. Each school sends home information about the dates, locations and fees for the ISEE. We encourage all the eighth graders to prepare and sit for the exam as a class. Ridgefield Academy is an ISEE testing site during the months of November and February. Most boarding schools require the SSAT (Secondary School Achievement Test). Some boarding schools accept either ISEE or SSAT. We will administer the SSAT at Ridgefield Academy during November/December for all eighth graders. We encourage all students to take either the SSAT or the ISEE; it is good practice for the SAT and lets students and parents see how the student performs compared to a national population with similar educational goals. Be sure to check with each school to find out which one of the above tests is required. In addition, some schools require students to take placement tests before or after they apply to that specific school. Plan ahead so that your family calendar allows time for these important tests. * Please make an effort to have your scores shared with Ridgefield Academy. We keep these scores in strictest confidence.
