	Spring Gala News Our Spring Gala is fast approaching! You should have received your invitation in the mail this week to Landmark Preschool’s South of the Border Extravaganza. It is shaping up to be a fiesta not to be missed! Come for the fun, the food, the margaritas and beer. Or come for the silent auction, candy buffet and the chance to win an evening out with Real Housewives host Andy Cohen. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Get your tickets in advance because you know you are coming!! Stop by the Main Office or call 203-544-8393 to purchase yours now! FYI We are looking for sports games tickets Please let us know if you want to help with the auction Summer Camp at Landmark! Our camp information is headed home in backpacks this week! Check your calendars and reserve your child's spot and any registrations received by April 15th we will waive the $50 registration fee. Family Portraits Trying to get a family picture taken now that spring has arrived? Look no further than Peter Friedman! Friedman's beautiful portraits decorate our Main Office and he is offering a preschool special that includes a free portrait sitting with an 8x10 framed portrait and $100 donation to Landmark! 	We are pleased to announce the birth of Dominique Elizabeth Heege, born on Saturday, March 12th at 5:01 pm, weighing in at 8lbs and 20 inches long. This is their first child. Best wishes to Laura and hubby!

	Early Literacy Event at the Ridgefield Library The Ridgefield Library's Younger Set committee is hosting a parent's resource night on Tuesday, April 5th from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. This event is geared at parent's of emerging readers age 3-6 and a librarian will walk you through a high level tour of all the exciting resources available in-house at the library and online through the library's website. Their flyer is avaliable for download here. If you're interested, please register upstairs in Children's Services or by calling 203-438-2282 x 1024. Minds in the Making Program Education specialists and coaches Ruthann Short, MSW, LCSW and Mary Plotzker, M. Ed. will host the program “Minds in the Making: Practical Strategies to Build Executive Function Skills for Elementary-School Children” on Tuesday, April 13th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Fairfield Public Library. This program will introduce parents to practical strategies to build healthy “brain-based skills” for primary school children (K-5). For more information, their flyer is avaliable for download here. Calm Down: How to Help Our Upset Children Dr. Julia A. Trebing will host the program “Calm Down: How to Help Our Upset Children” on Tuesday, April 26th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the New Canaan Public Library. Dr. Trebing will guide parents through her four strategies of managing our children’s anger. Her presentation will provide practical techniques to use: From anticipation, to dealing with the situation in the moment, and how to handle the aftermath. She will introduce skills to help children self-regulate their behavior, allowing you to begin today to help your child, your family and yourself.
