A Look at What's Happening at Landmark...

Good Friday & Professional Development Day

A reminder that we will be closed tomorrow in observance of Good Friday as well as Monday, April 25th for a professional development day. School will not be in session for students on these two days. Classes will resume Tuesday, April 26th.

A Request from Our Neighbor

We have received a request from our neighbor at 12 Burr Rd to remind our families that this lot is an active construction site.

Families are asked not to park in front of this lot where they may obstruct delivery of construction materials, and for safety reasons, not to permit children to play or walk on the property. Please help us be a good neighbor and keep your children safe!

As many of you may know, we recently entered the emerging world of social media by creating a "Landmark Preschool" pageon Facebook. As we familiarize ourselves with it's capabilities, we are excited to find more and more ways to keep us connected as a community. To that end, from time to time we would like to post photos of our recent events activities.

We would love to showcase all of our families; however, if you would prefer that we not post a photo of you or your child on our page, please email Rebecca Toon (rtoon@landmarkpreschool.org) with that request. All photos will be watermarked and the names of our children will never be used.

A Night for Mrs. Casarella

Our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to all of our families who have expressed your care and concern for Teresa Casarella, our wonderful Twos Assistant Teacher. Last week, Landmark hosted a benefit for Teresa at My Three Sons in Norwalk. Approximately 130 Landmark friends, families,and faculty turned out to show their love and support. We also received donations from many families who were not able to attend the event, but wished to express their support for the Casarella family. To date, we have received over $7,500 in donations. If you wish to make a donation and have not yet had the opportunity, you may do so in the main office.

A Message from Admissions

Schedules are filling quickly. If you would like to discuss your enrollment plans for next year, please contact Siobhan Powers Streams or Kim McElderry. If you have misplaced your enrollment contract, please contact our office and we will provide you with a copy.

If you are re-locating, or will not be returning next year for other reasons, please contact Kim McElderry who will provide you with the necessary paperwork.

GO TEAM LANDMARK!!

On Sunday, May 1st, members of "Team Landmark" will be participating in the 2011 Minute Man 5K & 10K Race and Kids' Fun Run & Fun Fest. This year, Team Landmark will be running in honor of Mrs. Casarella. A very special "shout out" to the Landmark families participating: Paige Whipple, Shannon Whipple, James Whipple, Ava Montanaro, Mark Montanaro, Oliver Mascera, Nicole Mascera, Missy Zahler, Emmett Zahler, Gavin Zahler, Hunter Dryden, Reece Dearborn, Eddie Xue, Edey Cumello, Lilly Cumello, Ava Cumello, Hayden Frey, Ashlyn Frey, Renee Wilson, David Wilson, Olivia Wilson, Tyler Boccanfuso, Hallie Chase, Daniella Kohler, Lauren Booth, Charlotte Booth, Emma Booth, Lauren Goodman, Danielle Weeks, James Ortiz, Jacob Gonzales and Alyssa Thomas. Have a GREAT time!

Also this year, Team Landmark will be running in the Ragnar Relay Series. This series is a 200+ mile relay run from Yale (New Haven, CT) to Harvard (Boston, MA). Running this year will be: James and Shannon Whipple, Tracy Darmofal and Mark Montanaro. Volunteers for the race will be Greg Montanaro and Rebecca Toon. If you see these brave souls in the hallways, be sure and give them a little encouragement!

	Auction News A special note of thanks to all who helped make our recent Auction gala such a huge success. It was a wonderful evening and we are pleased to announce that through the generosity of our Landmark community we were able to raise over $45,000 after expenses to support our new building initiatives, continuing education for our faculty as well as enrichment programs for our students. Once again, we thank you for your continued and generous support. If you didn't have a chance to view the Auction slideshow in last weeks newsletter, you can still view them here. Finally, we still have a few auction items open for bidding. You can browse these items by clicking on the graphic to the left. If you'd like to purchase one of these items, simply email Rebecca (rtoon@landmarkpreschool.org) or stop by the main office. These items will be sold at the minimum bid on a first come, first serve basis.
