Lady Patriots Move to 7-1 with Win Over Carmel Academy
The Lady Patriots 7/8 Girls Basketball team improved to 7-1 as they defeated Carmel Academy 33-10 on Tuesday, February 7th. Adrianna Pappas led all scorers with 16 points while Sophie McLaughlin and Jessica Camarda added 7 and 6 points respectively. The Lady Patriots bounce back in to action on Tuesday, February 14th as they take on Trinity Middle School out of Stamford for a 4:00pm start.
Lady Patriots Score Five Wins in a Row
In Girls Basketball action this week, the Lady Patriots continued their impressive play with two victories over New Canaan Country School and St. Aloysius to bring their overall record to 6-1.
 
On Tuesday, January 31st, the lady Patriots defeated NCCS, 26-13. Adrianna Pappas led the six player scoring attack with eight points. Rounding out the scoring were Jessica Camarda with 5 points, Ellen Pucel & Lauren Lamb each with 4, MacKenzie Kelly with 3 and Sophie McLaughlin with 2.

On Thursday, February 2nd, the Lady Patriots defeated St. Aloysius 31-14. Sophie McLaughlin led all scorers with a career high 10 points. Adrianna Pappas continued to have the hot hand as well as she netted 8 points. The Lady Patriots are in action on Tuesday, February 7th against Carmel Academy.
Lady Patriots Come Up Big Against Greenwich Academy
The Lady Patriots moved to 3-1 as they defeated Greenwich Academy 34-19 on January 24th. Leading the offense for RA was point guard Jessica Camarda. Camarda led all scorers with 10 points. Also contributing to the scoring were Ellen Pucel with 8 points, Adrianna Pappas with 7 points, MacKenzie Kelly with 5 points, and both Lauren Lamb and Shannon Coomaraswamy with 2 points each.  Coach McNamara was impressed with the overall play of Debra Cox, saying, "She played every position for us and was a dominant force on defense. From start to finish, she never let down." Coach McNamara also praised the efforts of Samantha Kann who is back on the court after a year long absence. "Sam has been working extremely hard in practice and she has really stepped up her level of play and we are so proud of her!" The Lady Patriots are back in action at home on January 25th against Convent of the Sacred Heart for a 3:45 pm start.
Lady Patriots Defeat Greenwich Academy and Move to 2-1
On January 17th, The Ridgefield Academy 7/8th grade girls basketball team improved to 2-1 as they defeated Greenwich Academy 34-24. Adrianna Pappas led all scorers with 12 points while classmate MacKenzie Kelly scored 9 with a broken finger! The Lady Patriots received an offensive charge from Ellen Pucel, 6 points, Debra Cox, 4 points and Lauren Lamb, 3 points. "This was a great team win for us," commented Coach McNamara. The team rallied together, worked hard, and were able to make things happen on the court." The team is back in action on Tuesday, January 24th as they travel to Greenwich Academy for a rematch! Game time is at 3:15pm.
Lady Patriots Lose Narrowly to King 44-42
On Thursday, January 12th, the 7/8th grade girls basketball team of Ridgefield Academy traveled to King for what proved to be basketball at its best! Right out of the gate the tempo was set high and both teams were moving up and down the court trying to force turnovers, sink their shots and create opportunities. When the final buzzer sounded in the fourth quarter, both teams starred at the scoreboard and saw that their outstanding efforts resulted in a tie. All of a sudden, the scoreboard lights lit up with four minutes on the clock and both teams were headed in to overtime. After what seemed to be the longest four minutes, King kept their two point lead and handed the Lady Patriots their first loss 44-42.

Jessica Camarda led the way for the Lady Patriots scoring 18 points. Also contributing to the scoring were MacKenzie Kelly with 8 points, Adrianna Pappas and Ellen Pucel both with 6 points and Lauren Lamb with 5 points.

Coach Mac and Coach Curry were both impressed with how well the team played the entire game. "The girls were challenged from start to finish and played the best basketball that we have seen in two years! We are very proud of them!"

The team is back on the road on Tuesday, January 17th as they travel to Greenwich Academy for a 4pm start.
Lady Patriots Win Big Over Greenwich Country Day in Season Opener
The 7th and 8th grade Girls Basketball team opened their season with a convincing 46-20 win over Greenwich Country Day School on Thursday, January 5th. Adrianna Pappas led all scorers with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jessica Camarda recorded a double double as she dished out 10 assists and scored 10 points. Classmate and guard MacKenzie Kelly scored 8 points and had 5 steals. Contributing to the offensive attack were Sophie McLaughlin(4pts), Lauren Lamb (4pts), Ellen Pucel (2pts) and Shannon Coomaraswamy (2pts). The Lady Patriots are on the road to King on Thursday, January 12th.
