Ridgefield Academy welcomes applications for 2017-2018 in all grade levels. We encourage you to begin the admission process outlined below, through rolling admissions in the spring and summer. The admission office is excited to help guide you through this process.
STEP 1: INQUIRE
You may request information about Ridgefield Academy by completing the online inquiry form
, or by contacting David Suter, Associate Head of School & Director of Enrollment, by phone (203.894.1800 x112) or by email
STEP 2: PARENT CAMPUS VISIT/TOUR
The best way to understand the value of a Ridgefield Academy education is to experience our campus, our programs, and our faculty first hand. Families
are invited to visit our campus
for a tour at their earliest convenience. Additionally, we encourage you to schedule a private parent visit
during which we can sit and talk about your child or children and what you are looking for in your next school. You may schedule your visit either before or after an application has been submitted by calling the Admission Office at 203.894.1800 x112.
STEP 3: APPLY
We encourage you to submit the initial online application form
or download and submit the paper version
at your earliest convenience. Then, take your time completing the supplementary materials (at right, listed by age group). Completing your child's application as soon as possible will allow us more flexibility in scheduling his or her classroom visit to Ridgefield Academy.
The deadline for applications to the first round of admissions ended January 15, 2017. However, if you are interested in a rolling admissions process after that date, please call the Admissions Office at 203-894-1800 x112. Arriving late to the admission process in no way hinders a family's ability to find the best school fit when space is available.
Please note, there is a non-refundable $50 application fee for each applicant. Important: If Financial Aid is a consideration, we would ask that you complete the process at the same time you complete the admissions process to ensure that you have all the information you will need prior to enrollment. We are happy to help guide you through both, so just ask for information as needed.
Once the application and records (transcript and recommendations) have been received, student candidates will be invited to visit campus for a ‘day in the life’ of attending classes, meeting teachers and students, and meeting with the Director of Enrollment.
To begin the online application process, follow the link at right. If you prefer to receive a hard copy of the application, please call the Admission Office at 203.894.1800 x112 and we will be happy to provide you with one.
STEP 4: STUDENT VISIT
Applicants to grades 5-8 are required to submit their ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) scores. To register or find locations and testing dates, visit the ISEE website for details. Applicants to grades K-4 will complete an in-house assessment, which may include a DRA (diagnostic reading assessment, writing prompt, and/or math assessment).
STEP 5: STANDARDIZED TESTING
