You may request information about Ridgefield Academy by completing the online inquiry form, or by contacting David Suter, Associate Head of School & Director of Enrollment, by phone (203.894.1800 x112) or by email.
We invite you to take a tour of our campus, meet our students and faculty, and learn more about our academic programs during one of our Admissions Events. Additionally, we encourage you to schedule a private parent visit during which we can sit and talk about your child or children and what you are looking for in your next school. You may schedule your visit either before or after an application has been submitted by calling the Admission Office at 203.894.1800 x112.
For your convenience, Ridgefield Academy accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO), which simplifies the application process by allowing you to apply to multiple schools using a single application. SAO is also used by many of our peer schools and boarding schools.
To begin your application, please visit the SAO website and create an account or sign in to complete the Student Profile.
Upon RA's receipt of the Student Profile and a non-refundable fee of $50, we will invite you to campus for a campus tour and interview with a member of the Admissions team.
While priority enrollment applications for the 2022-2023 year were due by January 15, applications for select grades where space remains available will now be reviewed on a rolling basis. The rolling admissions timeline does not hinder a family's application to RA/LP when space is available
Applicants to grades 5-8 are encouraged to submit either their SSAT or their ISEE scores from the current year. To register or find locations and testing dates, please visit either the SSAT or ISEE websites for details. Applicants to grades K-4 will complete an in-house assessment, which may include a DRA (diagnostic reading assessment, writing prompt, and/or math assessment).
Please note that Ridgefield Academy has a “Standardized Testing Recommended” format for the coming year. What this means is that in order to make the best assessment about an applicant/RA match, we believe standardized test scores are helpful to the Admission Committee. However, we understand there may be circumstances in which it is not possible to secure testing, and in such situations applicants should contact the Admission Office to determine alternatives.
There are a variety of options to take either the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), including in-person and at-home, online testing.
Tuition Assistance is an important part of the decision making process for some families, and therefore we encourage you to learn more about our program here so you can complete an application for tuition assistance at the same time as you apply for admission.
We've made it easier than ever to get started on your journey at RA. For your convenience, Ridgefield Academy accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO). To learn more about using the SAO and begin your application, click here.
