Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

To support a smooth transition to the school day, we ask that parents and caregivers remain outside the building at designated drop-off times.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

Before-Care (Beginning at 7:30 AM | All Grades)

I have a child in the 2s.

I have Preschool 3s and 4s children only.

I have Preschool and Lower School children OR Lower School children only.

Lower School children and those families with Preschool 3s and 4s and Lower School children should be dropped off at the Summit main entrance between 8:10 and 8:30 AM. Faculty will be outside to help your child(ren) out of the car. Please remain in your vehicle as we will be greeting dozens of families and will need to keep the line moving. Students that arrive prior to 8:10 AM will be sent to Before-Care.

I have Lower School and/or Middle School/Upper School children.

I have Middle and Upper School children only.

All Middle and Upper School students arriving by car should be dropped off at the back of the Annex Building (near the athletic fields) between 8:10 and 8:25 AM. A faculty member will be outside to greet students during this time.

If you arrive after 8:25 AM, please drop your child off at the front of the building in the Lynch House circle (near Mrs. Maguire’s office).

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

After-Care (All Grades)

2s After-Care: 2s attending After-Care until 2:00pm (w/siblings in the Preschool 3s/4s) will be dismissed with their older sibling (see "I have a 3s/4s Preschool child only and am not using the After-Care program" below). 2s attending After-Care until 3:30 p.m. (w/ siblings in Lower School) will be brought to the gym entrance upon your arrival. Parents of 2s students remaining after 3:30 p.m., or those without siblings, must park their vehicle in a designated parking space and come to the Summit main entrance for pick up.

3s/4s After-Care: If you are picking up children from the 3s/4s Preschool After-Care program (w/siblings in Lower School) at 3:30, your Preschool and Lower School children will be brought to the gym entrance when you arrive for dismissal. Preschool and Lower School children attending After-Care past 3:30 p.m., or those without siblings, will be picked up at the Summit main entrance.

Lower School After-Care: Pick up your children at the Summit main entrance.

Middle/Upper School Homework Club: Pick up your children at the Lynch House main entrance. Parents will be given contact information for the adult supervising this program. When you arrive on campus for pick up, please contact this individual via text/phone or call the main office.

I have a 2s Preschool child only and am not using the After-Care program.

I have a 3s/4s Preschool child only and am not using the After-Care program.

I have Lower School children only.

I have Lower School and Middle/Upper School children and am picking up by car.

I have Middle and/or Upper School children only.

Changes to Dismissal?

If you find you need to make changes to your child's dismissal instructions, please utilize the Student Logistic Request (yellow button under School Links) in the Patriot Portal. Select Child, Date, and Request a Change. Then, complete the questions. A section for notes is included, please include important information, such as dismissal time, return time, and whether or not your child is aware of this change. You will receive an email confirmation once it is approved. Please make all changes before 1:30pm. For last minute changes call the main office at 203.894.1800.
