Service Learning

Service learning combines community service opportunities with classroom lessons and advisory programs in order to teach civic responsibility, to strengthen our school and neighboring communities, and to enrich the academic learning experience.

At Ridgefield Academy we are proud of our dedicated focus on the development of each student. Our Service Learning program naturally compliments our school's character education piece, which teaches the value of good student citizenship. Through advisory programs, guest speaker events, field trips, and discussion groups service learning addresses broader citizenship matters ranging from hunger, poverty, and homelessness to developmental differences and environmental awareness. These programs encourage and empower our students to become thoughtful, reflective citizens who are inspired to serve as active agents within their community.
