So Can We.

WE'RE OPEN FOR REMOTE LEARNING!

Campus may be closed, but school is open for joyful and engaging learning.

As an intentionally connected community, we embrace the explorations and collaborative moments of our students, teachers, parents, and staff while we venture together during this unprecedented time. We are all working to ensure our students develop into authentically self-assured individuals. This page will provide remote learning guidance and highlight how imaginations flourish and academic excellence takes root at RA and Landmark Preschool.

"Ridgefield Academy is old enough to know, but young enough to do. We are a firmly established school with top-notch faculty, staff, and administrators. But at the same time we aren’t grounded in hundreds of years of history that might constrict us from exploring, from discovering, from innovating – to find out what really are the best ways to educate our children. We can do things differently because we’re not mired in history, we have the ability and flexibility to pivot in different directions."

RA CARES

5.19.20
The Van Riper family surprised their neighbor who works in the emergency room by cleaning out her flower bed, planting flowers, and adding colorful #kindnessrocks. The Van Riper's had so much fun brightening someone's day they've kept up the acts of kindness and have done 10 houses! "We wanted to do something to give back to the frontline workers while also cheering up our gloomy neighborhood and keeping our spirits high. It helps us feel better to do something nice for others." #bekind #community

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Your unrestricted Annual Fund gift helps fund teacher salaries and benefits, professional development, financial aid, and materials like classroom cleaning supplies to prep our buildings for post Covid-19 schooling. When you contribute these vital funds to RA, you enable us to provide a multi-dimensional and unique educational experience for your children. Gifts to the Annual Fund are vital to our school and always appreciated.
GALA
To keep some gala spirit alive, we are hosting our annual silent auction so you can get a taste of the fun this year. Your participation in the annual gala typically raises over $200,000 for the Annual Fund and every dollar is appreciated!
WAYS TO GIVE
We encourage you to explore the many Ways to Give. We will work with you to find the best vehicle for making your donation. We accept, credit cards, checks, donor-advised funds, stock transfers, and more.
MATCHING FUNDS
Your company may be one of 17,000 that offer a Matching Gifts Program. Unsure if your company matches gifts? You may use this search engine, contact your human resources department, or email Manager of the Annual Fund Clancy Healy with any questions.
DAF
According to Fidelity Charitable and Schwab Charitable, donor-advised funds have seen massive increases in funds being designated to causes since mid-March, while also seeing an increase in money being added to donor-advised funds. This response is more than was designated during all seven natural disasters that happened in 2017. You can begin making a gift through your donor-advised fund here.
CARES ACT
CARES Act: The CARES Act adds a new above-the-line deduction that allows an individual who does not itemize to deduct up to $300 of cash contributions to a qualified charity. This is in addition to the standard deduction.

For individuals who itemize their taxes, the CARES Act increased the deduction for cash contributions to a qualified charitable organization in 2020 to 100% of the individual’s adjusted gross income.

PETS OF RA

Our pets, whether they are the furry, feathered, or the scaled kind, are steadfast in their love, ever present, and provide a sense of comfort to us as we work and learn remotely. We thought they deserved some extra attention. Please give a round of applause and a scratch between the ears for our “Pets of RA.”
