JANUARY 16, 2020

Explore a day in the life of an RA student! Visit multiple classes, meet our teachers and administrators, hear from students in each of our divisions, and learn about what lies ahead for your child in Lower, Middle, or Upper School.

"Ridgefield Academy prepared me very well for high school at Greens Farms Academy - both in the classroom and on the field. I was able to take the advanced math class Algebra 2 as a freshman as well as Biology Honors. Señora Brooks prepared me very well for conversational Spanish that allowed me to fit right in with my Honors Spanish class."

"The strengths of RA's program can be found on many different levels. I think it is the school's overall approach to curriculum development. Interweaving meaningful literature with verbal and artistic expression; expanding a history unit to include culture, art and science along with the core topic; relating Latin roots to English and foreign language vocabulary are all examples of how RA educates rather than teaches. From the first moment you meet the teaching staff, you realize they are there because they love to educate students."

The Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool community celebrates childhood, pursues excellence, and cultivates kindness. Our educational program is intellectually inspiring, and we foster joyful learning and mutual respect in all that we do. We empower each student to rise to their authentic self, preparing confident graduates who shape their future with ingenuity and integrity.

Our curriculum combines the core subject areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies with a rich program of music, art, drama, media arts, and world language designed to empower and inspire our students.

Through our emphasis on the whole child and our high standards of achievement, we strive to help children become thoughtful, skilled, independent, and confident learners prepared to enter an ever-changing global world.

RA's Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning ensures that our program is cutting-edge and forward-thinking, is informed by the latest research, and continues to find new ways for students to have defining and unique experiences. The Center's work ranges from developing a modern technology curriculum to creating new ways of evaluating student work, all while supporting students - and teachers - in the learning process. The Center has three areas of focus: Curriculum design, learning support and enrichment, and continual teacher growth. It is at the heart of the RA experience.
